NEW for 2026-27
Focus/Parent Portal has made some exciting improvements for the new school year. Families are now able to submit absence information via a laptop, desktop computer, or mobile device.
Submitting An Absence Request Through The Parent Portal
If families know ahead of time that their child will be missing school, they can submit an absence request via Focus/Parent Portal. (This is often in lieu of calling the school office.) Written documentation may be required when the student returns.
Submitting An Excuse Note Through The Parent Portal
Parents and guardians can upload excuse notes directly to Focus/Parent Portal. This eliminates the need to send a paper note, fax or email to the attendance office at your student's building.

Absences
To report a child absent for a full or partial day, including late arrivals (tardy) and early dismissals, the parent/guardian must submit written notification to the school office, via email or through Focus/Parent Portal.
Early Dismissals & Late Arrivals
For early dismissals, a parent/guardian must report to the main office before the student will be dismissed. Late arrivals (tardy) do not need to be accompanied by a parent/guardian upon arrival. Students arriving after the start of school are considered tardy, which may be excused if proper written notification is submitted upon arrival.
Educational Trips
Absences for pre-planned educational trip should be approved prior to departure. Completed forms should be submitted to the school’s main office or via email.
