Welcome to Fort Couch Middle School. We are excited and honored to have you and your child as members of our educational community. Fort Couch is an exemplary middle school as a three-time recipient of the Presidential Secondary Blue Ribbon Schools award and one of the first established middle schools. Our school is driven by our students' social, intellectual, emotional, moral and physical developmental needs. We meet these needs by implementing the five components of successful middle schools listed by the National Middle School Association: transition programs, interdisciplinary teaching, advisory programs, varied instruction and exploratory programs.

Parent involvement is an important aspect of our culture at Fort Couch. Together we will work to provide our students with numerous rewarding experiences. Our students are well prepared for their careers as high school students, as our superb teaching staff provides them with a quality education. The teachers are well versed in utilizing a variety of assessment tools and curricular resources to evaluate students' progress. In addition, they use diagnostic results to drive instructional initiatives. The teachers of Fort Couch routinely seek strategies to ensure the students' successful attainment of proficiency standards.
